Misty Nichols

Staff Attorney

Misty joined Disability Rights Oregon in January 2025 as a Staff Attorney on the Multnomah County Civil Commitment team. 

Misty has completed judicial externships with the Multnomah County Circuit Court and the Oregon Court of Appeals, where she conducted in-depth legal research, drafted judicial opinions, and analyzed complex areas of Oregon law.

Misty’s clinical experience includes representing clients in protective order proceedings through the University of Oregon’s Protective Order Clinics. In addition, Misty is co-founder of Oregon Law Students Aligned Against Ableism and an active member of the Oregon Attorneys with Disabilities Affinity Bar Association—reflecting a sustained commitment to accessibility, equity, and systemic advocacy within the legal profession.
