Melissa Roy-Hart

Communications Director

Melissa joined Disability Rights Oregon in May 2023 as Communications Director.

Melissa has spent most of her career in communications, media relations, and public affairs at The Nature Conservancy. Before joining Disability Rights Oregon, Melissa also worked as a consultant to nonprofit and for-profit clients across the Pacific Northwest. She brings deep experience in strategic messaging and storytelling.

Melissa holds a Masters in Journalism and Communications from the University of Oregon and a Bachelors in Broadcasting and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

She's also a proud mom and marching band member who enjoys gardening, kayaking, science fiction, and spending time with her husband, pets, and chickens.
