Clare Pledl

Advocate

Clare began as an Advocate for the Crime Survivor Project in December 2022. In this role, she works with victims of crime who have disabilities as they navigate the justice system.

Clare was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, to attend Hamline University, where she studied Sociology and Women's Studies. Clare worked in group homes throughout college and interned with The Arc of Minnesota, which furthered her interest in supporting people with disabilities.

Clare moved to the east coast to attend Vermont Law School, where she graduated with a Law degree and Master of Arts in Restorative Justice. Clare was a Staff Editor for the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law and wrote an article on the intersection of disability and environmental justice issues. Clare interned with Disability Rights Vermont, where she learned to love the Protection & Advocacy system. When she moved to Oregon, working at Disability Rights Oregon was the natural choice.

Clare is new to Portland and enjoys exploring the city's many coffee shops and yarn stores.
