Vickie Johnson

Board Member

Vickie’s career has been centered on serving people with mental illness who are involved in the criminal justice system. Vickie is also the family member of people with disabilities and has lived experience. As a licensed clinical social worker, Vickie has worked in outpatient, residential, nursing home, and shelter settings.

Vickie leads the work of Disability Rights Oregon’s Mental Health Advisory Council. The Council is composed of people with mental illness, qualified mental health providers, lawyers, and family members. The Council helps shape Disability Rights Oregon’s annual goals, priorities, and work of the Mental Health Rights Project.

Vickie is actively pursuing ministry in the United Methodist Church where she works to make the church a more welcoming and inclusive place for community. Vickie holds a Master’s in Divinity degree from Duke University and a Master’s in Social Work degree from Barry University.

Vickie served on the Board of Disability Rights Oregon from 2021 to 2022. Vickie rejoined the Board of Disability Rights Oregon in 2023.
