Julie brings more than 25 years of civil rights law experience to her role as Board member. After more than 10 years with Portland State University, she recently retired as Associate Vice President of Global Diversity and Inclusion: Title IX and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator.

 Prior to that, Julie worked at the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries as a senior civil rights investigator and as a private practice lawyer with an emphasis on employment law, including disability rights.

She earned a J.D. at the Northwest School of Law at Lewis and Clark College and a B.S. in Political Science from University of California Berkeley. Julie joined the Disability Rights Oregon Board in 2023.
