Emilie Wylde Turner

President of the Board

Emilie works as a consultant with BKessler Consulting where she helps mission driven organization align their values with their work.

Previously, Emilie served as the Policy Director of the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities (OCDD). OCDD is made up of self-advocates, family members, representatives of advocacy organizations, and community organizations that provide services and supports to people with developmental disabilities.

Before joining the OCDD staff, Emilie was the CEO of Living Opportunities, Inc., a Jackson County-based service provider that has been helping individuals who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities and their families to thrive in their own apartments or homes within the community for more than 40 years. In 1974, Living Opportunities assisted in moving residents out of the Fairview Training Center, a state institution for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Living Opportunities has supported more than 100 individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities are employed in the Rogue Valley through its community employment initiative. The provider has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Nonprofits to Work for in Oregon.

Emilie serves on the Fairview Trust Advisory Board. She was honored to receive The Arc of Oregon’s Al Soenneker Memorial Award in 2011. Through this award, The Arc recognizes a professional or provider’s “significant contribution to the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through innovative practices in service, program development, or research.”  

Emilie was born and raised in the Bay Area and moved to Oregon in 2005. She is married to her husband Brett and together they have five children, the youngest of whom experiences autism. 

Emilie is passionate about breaking down barriers and facilitating communities that are inclusive of all who live in them.
