You contact us.

You contact us by phone or on-line.
Please do not call us and fill out an intake form on-line for the same issue.

An Intake Specialist will contact you back.

We return contacts in the order received.
The Intake Specialist can give you basic legal information and referrals.
The Intake Specialist will also refer you to our publications. Our publications have useful information about your legal rights.

If your problem falls within our goals and priorities, the Intake Specialist will refer your intake to our legal staff.

Our legal staff has limited resources and cannot provide legal representation or assistance to every caller.
Our legal staff may offer additional information or referrals for the Intake Specialist to give you.

We cannot help with the following issues, even if they are related to a disability:

Criminal law
Family law
Becoming the guardian of an individual with a disability
Out-of-state issues
Workers compensation
General medical malpractice & personal injury
General consumer bankruptcy issues
Any issue or problem not directly related to your disability
Assistance finding employment, housing or financial assistance
Assistance filling out forms & Social Security applications
Anything that is not the wish of the person with the disability
Any issue for a person who already has an attorney working on the same issue

If the problem is in another state: click here for a list of Protection & Advocacy (P&A) Systems in each U.S. state & territory.
If you need a private attorney, click here for the Oregon State Bar's Lawyer Referral Service. The State Bar also has a Modest Means Program.
If you have a criminal issue, click here to contact the Circuit Court of the county in which you live to find out whether you qualify for a Public Defender.
